Message from the President of CFPSL

For the period 2022–2023, I have the honor and privilege of serving as President of the College of Forensic Pathologists of Sri Lanka, an essential establishment in the field of forensic medicine that fosters all facets of the medico-legal sciences in our nation and boasts a long list of accomplishments since its founding in 2000. I have reverence for all of my predecessors and past council members for their vision and joint efforts over the previous 20 years that brought the College to where it is today. Please join me in extending a warm welcome to the new and returning council members who, in my opinion, will effectively fulfill the goals of our forensic fraternity. I look forward to carrying out this crucial task in furtherance of CFPSL's mission.

With your sustained, committed support, I am certain that we can successfully solve the critical issues in the post-Covid period that have been further exacerbated by unforeseen economic turbulences. The 14th International Congress of the Indo-Pacific Association of Law, Medicine, and Science in December, which will bring together the top brains in the medico-legal area with representation from its member organizations worldwide, is currently the College's biggest challenge.

I started my career as a full-time forensic fellow in 1993 and since then, I have built professional relationships with a variety of agencies to promote this art, of course, I had to overcome many hurdles and now I am sharing with you my path towards uplifting this great organization to the highest possible skies.  I wish you a very happy and fruitful academic year with our council.
